I have worked in a variety of settings in the mental health field. I have experience with inpatient, outpatient and residential programs. I have been a program coordinator for various outpatient programs at a community mental health center and have provided mental health services in a school setting. I also have experience working with Veterans. I have provided services to clients with various problems including depression, anxiety, behavior problems, ADHD, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, family conflict and grief issues.I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). EMDR is a therapeutic technique that has shown excellent results with trauma, grief, anxiety and many other struggles. I work with adults and children over the age of 5 years.
I enjoy working with clients to help identify their strengths, overcome obstacles and build their self-esteem. I work with clients to normalize their feelings and increase their self-awareness. I am passionate about removing the stigma from therapy and mental health treatment. I try to promote mindfulness when dealing with strong emotions and work to offer clients a safe and nonjudgmental place to share their feelings.
I enjoy working with children, teenagers and adults. I am interested in women’s mental health issues. I also recently received training in maternal mental health and I am currently pursuing a certification in this area.
